Is it just me...

or do you so something unusual in this picture too?

At our wedding, Ken and I gave single-use cameras to all of the kids who were there. There were a lot of kids in attendance, mostly Kate and Peter's friends whose parents are our friends, and we were hoping to see what our wedding day was like from their points of view.

They took many, many pictures (over 500) and did a nice job of capturing things we never would have seen otherwise.

Like this.

Just sayin.

  9. ahh! That totally gave me chills! Beautiful. One of my best friends died in May. I have a very tight group of friends and we get together a lot. We're always taking pictures. There are little blips and bubbles and smoky areas in EVERY picture we take! We know its her! It's definitely comforting. Great picture!

  12. I see them, too! What a beautiful and warm picture! There is an older German movie called "Wings of Desire." I don't exactly remember the whole plot, it was about Angels and how they observe life on Earth...In the film, Angels can only be seen by children...for some reason, this one bit of the movie has always stuck with me. Perhaps it is true.

  17. Hi Amy, I am new to your Blog. Thank you for your bravery to do this and I am so unbelievably sorry about the loss of your kids. (WOW that's hard to write and say. I think your picture is a sign from your kids saying keep going Mama your on the right path :-). My Dad had a long battle with brain cancer and he died March 26, 2000 from the damage caused by the disease. I never really got to know him that well. But I knew he was a jokester and one day my now husband did something I will never forget, it was something my dad always did, and he has never done it since. That was my sign that he was the one and my dad was right. I still miss him dearly and I would love to tell you the grief gets better but it is always there and to always remember the good memories that make you laugh. Good Luck and remember you Babes will never leave you, you carry them around in you forever and I believe you will see them again.

  19. This morning at about 9 a.m. I had a beautiful dream about my mother, who died a little over two years ago, in which I experienced her as she used to be many years ago, before Alzheimer's slowly took away the person we had known. My husband had dreamed about her two days ago. I wrote to my siblings about the dream and heard back from my brother that he had had a similar one... at 4 a.m. this morning. I don't know how my extremely skeptical brother will manage to explain this rationally, but I am fortunately not limited to his range of possible explanations, and just feel grateful for the reminder that what we can see and hear is not all there is. I wanted to share this reminder with you, since it is so easy to forget and fall into despair when we are dealing with such catastrophic losses as yours. I wish you peace and much love.
